Machine tool spindle bearing is special angular contact ball bearing designed for machine tool spindle, whose main feature is the high precision, high speed and can provide good shafting rigidity in order to meet the need of precision machine tool processing. As single row angular contact ball bearings can only bear axial load in one direction, it may cause the additional axial force when bearing radial load, so you must apply the corresponding reverse load. Therefore, this spindle bearing is generally used in pairs.
In order to improve the bearing rigidity and gyration precision, we add a pre load on the bearing inner and outer ring when assembling. This is done to let them produce the relative axial displacement and remove the bearing clearance. Moreover, it lets the rolling body and raceway of the inner, outer ring generate initial contact elastic deformation, a process called preload. A preload mounting bearing can improve the load bearing capacity, rigidity, and precision of rotation of the whole mechanical structure.
